Hi, we’re the Davis family—Kirby, Angi, Carter… and our loyal pup, Dude!

Kirbside Coffee isn’t just a new spot to grab your favorite brew—it’s the result of a journey filled with love, faith, and a deep-rooted passion for people and community.

I (Kirby) grew up in Arthur and graduated high school in 1979. After earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Counseling from Eastern Illinois University, I spent over 25 years as a school counselor in Neoga, retiring in 2022. Education and helping others have always been at the heart of my calling.

Angi and I met back in 1986 while I was working as a consultant for the Regional Superintendent of Schools in Morris, IL. She graduated from Morris High School in 1983 and later earned her Bachelor’s in Computer Technology from EIU in 1999. We got married in 1992 and have shared a life built on faith, family, and serving others.

Our beautiful daughter, Claire, was born in January 2001 and passed away later that September. Her memory lives on in everything we do and continues to shape our hearts and home.

In 2005, we welcomed our son Carter, who brings joy to our lives every day. He graduated from Neoga High School in 2022 and is now studying education at EIU—carrying on our love for learning and making a difference.

And of course, there’s Dude—our 9-year-old four-legged sidekick who’s always nearby, especially when snacks are involved.

Kirbside Coffee is our way of giving back to the community that’s given so much to us. Whether you’re here for your morning coffee, an encouraging word, or a moment of quiet, we hope you feel right at home.
